Dr. Lauren L. Acton

Dr. Lauren L. Acton completed her veterinary degree at Washington State University in 1988.

Dr. Acton serves as a board member on the Oregon Veterinary Medical Examining Board. She is an active member of the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners (AASRP), the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Dr. Acton raises purebred dairy goats, and maintains an internationally acclaimed herd of Saanens, Alpines, and LaManchas. Dr. Acton spends much of her summers travelling to shows across the country, and has been recognized with two National Champions. She is a licensed judge, and in addition to judging U.S. National and regional shows, she has travelled to Brazil, Latvia, England and Canada to judge and teach.

In her spare time, Dr. Acton enjoys outdoor recreation, especially hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Her favorite pastime is photographing waterfalls with her husband, John.
